What is Maévie?

Maévie is the world’s first footwear brand built specifically for teenage girls and young women who need shoes in bigger sizes — EU 39 to 47. Not adult styles in bigger numbers. Not children’s styles stretched further. Designed from the ground up for teenage girls and young women — their proportions, their identity, their world.

She may be tall — tall girls disproportionately need bigger sizes because feet grow with height. She may be of average height with naturally longer feet. What she shares with every Maévie customer is not a body type. It is an experience: the market wasn’t built for her size.

The Problem — Real, Long Unresolved

Parents have been posting about this since at least 2005:

EU sizing is based on Paris points tied to foot length in millimetres — the most precise international system. Because Maévie manufactures in Portugal, EU is the natural primary system and the most accurate reference point.

19. How do I measure my feet at home?
Stand on paper, full weight on foot, heel to wall. Trace both feet. Measure heel to longest toe in millimetres. Compare to the MM column in the Maévie table above. Measure both feet and size for the larger. Measure in the afternoon when feet are largest.

20. Should I size up or down if between sizes?
Always size up. A slightly larger shoe is always preferable to one that compresses the foot.
